Day with dad

I am the Varsity Scout leader in our ward and I was asked to teach the scouts how to edit videos. Miya was my little actress while I collected clips to make an example video. She is just so cute! What do you think...Oscar?!

Happy Easter! While living in the South, we learned about Resurrection Rolls, and now they are part of our Easter tradition. The marshmallow melts away when you ake these, leaving the roll "empty" when you bite into it, beautifully symbolic of the resurrection of the Savior. I made these for my primary class today (the 4 year-olds), and they were all very excited to take home their "starter" kit complete with marchmallow. Here's the recipe for anyone who's interested:

Dip the marshmallow into melted butter, then roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place marshmallow into the center of a dough triangle (I prefer crescent rolls). Carefully wrap the dough around the marshmallow. Pinch the seams together tightly to seal in the marshmallow as it melts. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes. When you bite into the roll, it will be “empty” Just as Jesus’ tomb was empty on the 3rd day.

"Street View" on Google Maps

A couple of days ago I was looking on Google maps and found that they have a really cool new feature called "Street View" that lets users see actual photos from the street. They don't have it in all areas, but they have Street View for our neighborhood in Lafayette. In looking around at other cities, it appears that most of the Utah valley has it...it was fun to revisit our old stomping grounds at BYU! Anyway, for those who haven't been to our home, you can make a virtual visit!

Adding Furniture

We've been adding furniture little by little to our initially empty house. We've been here 7 months now, and finally have bedroom furniture! (Click on one of the pictures for a larger view!)

Happy Family

Here is our happy family: Jacob, Michelle, & Miya.

Christmas 2007

MSHRM

Jacob has opted to leave behind the PhD track (he's been studying Marriage and Family Therapy) and his aspirations to work in academia, and has decided to try his hand at business. He's been accepted to the Human Resource Management master's program at Purdue, and will begin that program this fall.

Miya

Here's Miya in one of her Valentine's Day outfits (from grandma and grandpa Nishida, of course). They don't come any cuter than this!
